COMPANY and COMMERCIAL LAW

We act as counsel to various large and small financial institutions including multinational corporations, banks, trust companies, insurance companies, building societies, credit unions, venture capitalists, private lenders and statutory agencies. We also represent local and foreign interests in the petroleum industry, the bauxite and alumina sector, Jamaica Public Service Company Limited, agriculture (particularly sugar and bananas) media, tourism, real estate financing and development.

PENSIONS

Our firm has specialized in the area of pensions from 1977 and is advisor to the
sponsors and trustees of several funds in Jamaica. We have been actively involved
in the debate on the Pensions (Superannuation Funds and Retirement Schemes)
Act, 2004 and the Regulations, 2006 and have made submissions to the Financial
Services Commission, Minister of Finance and Planning, Select Committees of the
House of Representatives and at stakeholders' meetings which have precipitated
several meaningful changes to the legislation.
